About

Ross Adult Day Center, which was originally started by TVCCA in 1978, has continued to grow within the community.

The county’s first day center for senior care was called the Southeastern Connecticut Day Center. UCFS took over that program in 1982 from TVCCA. In 1990, Harold Ross made a donation to UCFS in his wife’s memory to help with seed money to build out Ross Adult Day Center at its current location.

The center caters to seniors who are experiencing decreased independence and isolation. We provide support to families caring for older adults with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and decreased cognition. It offers a caring atmosphere, safe environment, and a sense of connection with others in the community, as well as peace of mind for caregivers.

Ross Adult Day Center provides a broad spectrum of adult day services to elderly and/or disabled individuals residing in New London County who, because of physical and/or health limitations, are homebound or might otherwise consider nursing home care.

“Dad really enjoyed coming there every day. I believe everyone made him feel at home there. We believe that the short time he was able to attend, improved his attitude and alertness, social skills, due to socialization with others; a regular routine was important to him.” – Family Member
“We were more than satisfied with the staff and facility. They were always so attentive and compassionate to Dad’s needs. In two years we never saw them get upset with him. A close friend recommended the Ross Adult Day Center. He was pleased with the care his mother received. I also will highly recommend this facility to anyone who is interested in quality elderly care.” – Family Member
